The Journey

Walking The Bases

Sometimes, thoughts such as, “I’m not good enough†or “I’m broken†can creep into the mind. Every so often these thoughts stem from day-to-day experiences or childhood trauma. There is hope to shed these types of thoughts.

There was a young man who lived in a village where water was scarce. On a daily basis, he would carry two pails of water from a nearby river to his home. One of the pails showed signs of rust with small cracks causing it to drip along the way. The other pail he carried was in used condition.

One day, the young man noticed there was something wrong. As he approached the rusty pail, it said, “I am broken and useless.†The young man had empathy for the pail and picked him up and took him down the same path they traveled on a daily basis for water. The young man smiled and pointed along the path the splendor he sees every day.

The young man explained to the pail he was not broken and useless because he contributed to the colorful grandeur along their path. The pail began to understand through the help of the young man, how important and useful he was by being a contributing influence to the development of his environment around him.

From time to time, we need help from a young man to help shine the light onto the path of our journey. Events along your journey can happen, which causes “splinters†and hurts that impact in a way it feels like brokenness. You are valuable and we would like to be a part of helping you along your journey.
