Know Your Value

What do you see in this picture? A paper towel, a sheet of notepaper, and a $20.00 bill have one thing in common. Paper! A paper towel might be worth 10 cents and used for cleaning up messes. A note paper might be worth 20 cents to write reminders of meetings. A $20 bill could be torn, used for buying drugs, prostitutes, or gasoline, but has and holds the highest value. Yet, each has a purpose and assigned value. Do you give your meaning and value to yourself, or do you define your past and what others say about you?

Why not be a priceless tree that can bend with the storm and stay strong? Don’t let others cut you down and redistribute your self-worth, and place value in how they use you. There is a season of blooming, resting, providing, and a season to prepare for your purpose. It is all determined by how you hold your value.

A note and a $ 1 0 bill on top of a desk.

Don’t believe that you are the towel to clean up the messes of your life or others. Don’t believe you are the notepaper for others to walk over you. Don’t be the $20.00 that feels spent or used. Be the tree that stands strong and carries self-confidence in knowing the actual value of the tree’s spirit. Others can’t cut you down to their size of use when you firmly are rooted into the fertile soil of the heart you were born to be free and robust.

Storms come and go, but it is learning how to bend and yield and stand firm on the brightest of days. You are priceless. Know your worth because you are more than a piece of paper, and people can’t place their value on you. Be strong by believing your value and what you have to offer.
